Wotherspoon Traded to Baltimore

The New York Yankees have agreed to send right-handed pitcher Matt Wotherspoon to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for international signing bonus compensation.

The 25 year-old was selected by New York in the 34th round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft.

This season, the Mountain Top, Pennsylvania native is 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA across the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He pitched in six games with the RailRiders and 15 with the Thunder.

Wotherspoon has one start in his 21 appearances, opponents hit a combined .220 off him, his WHIP is 1.05 and he struck out 45 batters compared to 10 walks over 39 innings.
