Hi, what are you looking for?

Yankees 13th Round Pick: Trey Amburgey

Trey Amburgey was drafted in round the 13th round.  He played for St. Petersburg College and is a centerfielder hitting a light .304/.351/.385.   What is surprising about this line is Amburgey is a bigger kid.  He is 6’2″ and 190 lbs which is a pretty good size ball player.

Tools:  Speed right now is his best tool as he ran a 6.89 60 time when he was in high school.  Defense should also be a plus with that speed so he has that going for him right now.  Physically it looks that like he can add some more weight to add some more thunder in his bat.

My Take: A good pick up in the 13th round.  With picks this late you are just looking for one carrying tool and seeing if some tweaks can unlock something.  Amburgey has that with his speed.
