Yankees Prospect players contributed for a close win for the Scottsdale Scorpions. The Scorpions beat the Glendale Desert Dogs, 1-0, earning their run late in the eighth inning.
Prospects Aaron Judge, Tyler Austin, Dante Bichette Jr., and Greg Bird all entered yesterday’s game. The prospects contributed to well-played defense with Judge in right field, Austin in left field, Bichette playing third base, and Bird at first.
Judge was third in the batting line up connecting for two of his four at bats. His first hit came in the first inning where he singled on a ground ball to center field. Then in the eighth inning Judge would again single on a ground ball.
Bichette batted 1-3, connecting for a line drive in the seventh inning and batted sixth. Austin, batted second and received four at bats. He failed to get on base and was walked twice. Bird also failed to connect batting 0-4 and batting fourth in the line up.
The Scorpions will face the Glendale Desert Dogs again tomorrow at 12:35 MST.
