Yankees Designate RHP Cole for Assignment

The Yankees have officially announced signing shortstop Troy Tulowitzki signing, in doing so they also announced that they have designed right-handed pitcher AJ Cole for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

Cole, 26, was acquired by the Yankees in April from the Washington Nationals in exchange for cash.  Cole appeared in 28 games for the Bronx Bombers out of the bullpen where he was 3-1 with a 4.26 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 38 innings of work.

He spent some time on the disabled list in June due to neck strain.
