Triple-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (46-35) vs Pawtucket Red Sox (33-47)

LHP Daniel Camarena (2-3, 6.71) vs RHP Erasmo Ramirez (2-4, 4.85)

Camarena is 2-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 10 games, nine starts, for the RailRiders. He has yet to face the PawSox this season.  Scranton is coming off a 10-7 loss to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs on Sunday.

As a team, the RailRiders pitching staff has a combined 4.65 ERA with 770 strikeouts over 679 1/3 innings of work. Pawtucket, on the other hand, has a team ERA of 4.96 with 680 strikeouts over 662 1/3 innings.  PawSox pitchers have allowed 98 home runs this season, versus the 87 that SWB pitchers have allowed.

Double-A

Trenton Thunder (45-32) vs. Portland Sea Dogs (30-48)

RHP Deivi Garcia (4-2, 3.68) vs. Tanner Houck (7-5, 4.00)

Garcia is 4-2 in 9 starts for the Thunder. He faced the Sea Dogs on 5/20 earning a win in 6.0 innings of work. He has not allowed a hit in 2 consecutive starts. Portland is coming off a 3-2 loss against the Reading Fightin’ Phils on Sunday.

As a Team, the Trenton pitching staff has a combined 3.54 ERA with 681 strikeouts over 660 1/3 innings. Portland pitchers have allowed a league-low of 42 home runs, one less than Trenton pitchers have allowed.

Class-A Advanced

Tampa Tarpons vs. Daytona Tortugas

RHP Trevor Stephan (0-1, 12.00) vs. Austin Orewiler (4-6, 3.41)

Trevor Stephan made his first start of the season for High-A Tampa on 6/25 against the Tortugas after starting the season in AA. He went 3.0 innings allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits. The Tarpons are coming off a 2-1 over the Florida Fire Frogs on Sunday.

As a team, Tarpons pitchers have a combined 3.77 ERA with 690 strikeouts in 668.0 innings. Daytona pitchers have allowed a league-high 61 home runs to the Florida State League opponents.

 

Class-A

Charleston RiverDogs (42-39) vs. Augusta Green Jackets (43-36)
SRP Park | Augusta, GA
RHP Harold Cortijo (3-0, 2.05) vs. RHP Blake Rivera (4-5, 3.78)

 Cortijo will make his 5th start of the season for the Riverdogs and has yet to face the Green Jackets this season. Charleston is coming off a 6-1 loss against the Ashville Tourists on Sunday.

As a team, the RiverDogs hold a 3.81 ERA with 753 strikeouts in 708 1/3 innings. Augusta pitchers are second in the South Atlantic League with 788 strikeouts. They have allowed 44 home runs versus Charleston’s 39.

Class-A Short Season

Tri-City Valleycats (6-9) vs. Staten Island Yankees (9-6)

RHP Wellington Diaz (0-1, 1.00) vs TBD

Diaz last pitched on 6/25 against Hudson Valley where he picked up the Loss after allowing only 1 earned run on 5 hits. He will be making his first start of the season against Tri-City. Staten Island is coming off a 3-0 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters on Sunday.

As a team, the Staten Island Yankees hold a 2.60 ERA with 136 strikeouts in 121 1/3 innings pitched. Tri-City pitchers currently hold a 3.76 ERA in 122.0 innings pitched, and trail only West Virginia in the league lead in walks allowed with 67.

NOTE: Yankees 4th round pick LHP Jake Agnos may start instead of Diaz for SI.

Rookie-Advanced

Elizabethtown Twins (7-5) vs. Pulaski Yankees (6-5)

RHP Yoendrys Gomez (2-0, 0.82) vs. TBD

Yoendrys Gomez is making his 3rd start of the season for Pulaski. He last pitched on 6/25 against Princeton where he went 6.0 innings, allowing 0 runs on 3 hits in a quality start. He will be facing Elizabethtown for the first time this season. Pulaski is coming off an 8-5 loss against the Danville Braves on Sunday.

As a team, the Pulaski Pitching staff has a combined 3.43 ERA with 96 strikeouts in 84.0 innings. These two teams have the fewest and second fewest home runs allowed in the Appalachian league (PUL 7 and ELZ 6).
