Dunedin Blue Jays vs. Tampa Tarpons

RHP Jio Orozco (2-2, 3.76) vs. RHP Turner Larkins (5-4, 3.10)

Jio Orozco will make his 6th start of the season for the Tarpons and his 1st against

the Blue Jays. He last pitched on July 3rd against Daytona where he went 7.0 innings and gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits in a no-decision. The Tarpons are coming off a doubleheader sweep to split a 4-game series against the Clearwater Threshers.

Tarpons pitcher have a combined 745 strikeouts vs Dunedin’s 719. Offensively the Tarpons have quite an advantage in the long ball category. Their 62 home runs have a solid lead over Dunedin’s 47.

Class-A Short Season

Connecticut Sound Tigers vs. Staten Island Yankees

LHP Josh Maciejewski (2-1, 0.61) vs. RHP Xavier Javier (0-0, 2.45)

Josh Maciejewski will make his 3rd start of the season for Staten Island and his first against Connecticut. He last pitched on 6/30 against Vermont where he went 6.0 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits in a quality start. Staten Island is coming off a 3-2 loss on Sunday.

Staten Island pitchers have allowed a league-low 131 hits compared to Connecticut’s 161. Yanks’ pitchers also have the edge in runs/earned runs allowed, home runs allowed and walks allowed. Connecticut pitchers have racked up 7 more strikeouts than Staten Island pitchers this season (206/199).

Rookie-Advanced

Pulaski Yankees vs. Bristol Pirates

LHP Ken Waldichuk (0-1, 7.71) vs. TBD

Ken Waldichuk will be making his 3rd start of the season for the Pulaski Yankees and his 1st against Bristol. He last pitched on 7/2 against Elizabethtown here he allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 2 1/3 innings. Pulaski is coming off a 9-3 loss on Sunday.

Pulaski pitchers have allowed the 2nd fewest hits among all teams in the Appalachian League thus far in the season with 145 and have allowed one less run than their opponents today (91/92).
