RHP Raynel Espinal (3-7, 4.71) vs LHP Kyle Hart (3-2, 3.44)

Raynel Espinal will be making his 10th start of the season for Scranton and will be facing the Red Sox for the second time this season. He last pitched against them on 5/22 where he went 4.0 innings allowing 0 runs on 4 hits in a no-decision.

As a team, the Rail Riders pitching staff has a combined ERA of 4.60 with 775 strikeouts in 688 1/3 innings pitched. Pawtucket’s ERA jumped to 4.96 in 671 1/3 combined innings.

Albert Abreu will be making his 14th start for the Thunder and his first against the Portland Sea Dogs. Nick Nelson will be making his 7th start of the season and will be facing Portland for the second time. He last faced the Sea Dogs on 4/14 where he picked up the win after going 5.0 innings without allowing a run. The Thunder are coming off a 7-1 loss last night to the Sea Dogs.

in 668 1/3 innings pitched, Trenton pitchers hold a combined 3.58 ERA with 691 strikeouts vs. Portland’s combined 3.91 ERA and 636 fanned batters.

Class-A Advanced

Tampa Tarpons (34-45)  vs. Daytona Tortugas (41-38)

RHP Frank German (3-4, 4.34) vs. RHP Jared Soloman (0-3, 3.48)

Frank German will make his 12th start of the season for the Tarpons and his second against Daytona. He last faced the Tortugas on 6/26 where he went 3 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs in a loss. The Tarpons are coming off a 9-3 loss against Daytona.

Tarpons pitchers hold a combined 3.85 ERA with 695 strikeouts in 676.0 innings pitched and have allowed 39 home runs. Daytona has a combined team ERA of 3.87 with 687 strikeouts in 698 1/3 innings, allowing a league leading 63 four-baggers.

Charleston RiverDogs (43-39) vs. Augusta Green Jackets (43-37)

RHP Harold Cortijo (3-0, 2.05) vs. LHP Seth Corry (2-2, 2.59)

 Cortijo will make his 5th start of the season for the Riverdogs and has yet to face the Green Jackets this season. Charleston is coming off a 5-1 win against the Green Jackets last night.

In 726 1/3 innings, RiverDogs pitchers have a combined 3.79 ERA with 768 strikeouts and have allowed 354 (306 earned). They have allowed only 39 HR vs. Augusta’s 45.

Class-A Short Season

Tri-City Valleycats (6-10) vs. Staten Island Yankees (10-6)

RHP Blakely Brown (1-0, 2.00) vs RHP Valente Bellozo (1-0 1.46)

Blakely Brown will make his third start of the year for Staten Island and his first against Tri-City. In his last outing against Hudson Valley, he pitched four innings and allowed two runs on two hits and three walks in a no-decision.

Staten Island pitchers hold a combined 2.26 ERA with 154 strikeouts in 139 1/3 innings pitched with a WHIP of 0.92. Tri-City pitchers have a combined ERA of 4.01 with a WHIP of 1.39 in 130.0 innings.


Elizabethtown Twins (7-6) vs. Pulaski Yankees (7-5)
Calfee Park | Pulaski, VA
LHP Ken Waldichuk (0-1, 9.00) vs. TBD

South Paw Ken Waldichuk will make his second start on the mound for Pulaski and his first of the season against the Twins. In his last outing against Princeton, he went 2.0 innings and surrendered 2 earned runs in a loss.

Pulaski pitchers hold a combined 3.76 ERA in 103.0 innings pitched with 115 strikeouts and have allowed 37 walks. As a team, the Twins have allowed 46 walks in 115.0 innings pitched.
