Prospect, Dante Bichette Jr., earned two runs in yesterday’s game, which resulted in a 7-6 win for the Scorpions. Tyler Austin and Greg Bird also got a run apiece.
Bichette, who played third base, connected for one of his five at bats. Austin played right field, batting 2-5, and earning two RBI’s, while Bird went 1-4 in his at bat. Bird played as the Scorpions first baseman.
Bichette’s first run came in the top of the seventh inning, after connecting for a single to second base. A sacrifice fly by teammate, Logan Moore, would bring Bichette home.
The eighth inning was full of action for the prospects, beginning with single to center field by Austin. Next at bat was Bird, who singled on a ground ball to right field, bringing Austin to second. Austin scored after a hit by the next batter, followed by a run for Bird, when Bichette reached on a fielding error. Bichette would eventually make it home on a catching error.
In the ninth inning Austin connected for a double to right field, but was unable to make it home.
The Scorpions return to play tomorrow at 12:35 p.m. MST against the Mesa Solar Sox.
