In the second round of the 2015 First-Year-Player Draft with the 57th overall pick the New York Yankees selected left-handed pitcher Jeff Degano out of Indiana State and pitched in the 2005 Little League World Series.
Jeff sat out all of the 2014 season thanks to Tommy John surgery but returned this year with success going 8-3 with a 2.36 ERA and 126 strikeouts over 99 innings. He started all 15 games he played.
Degano has sat 88-92 miles per hour with his fastball, occasionally hitting 95. In addition he has a hard slurve according to MLB.com and a decent change up. The chance is that Jeff will remain a starter as he starts his professional career, another guy that could find himself with the Staten Island Yankees in 2015.
