The week-long initiative has earned numerous awards over the years and all of them will be invited back for a reunion at Yankee Stadium on June 17. HOPE week kicks off on Monday, June 17 and will last until Friday, June 21.
This season will also mark the eighth year that all of the Yankees US-based minor league affiliates will be participating in their own HOPE weeks connecting the teams with their communities throughout the country.
In advance of the 2019 season, the Yankees will be honoring Gigi’s Playhouse Tampa on March 8, 2018, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Gigi’s Playhouse Tampa is a non-profit organization that services the nearly 3,400 individuals of all ages living with down syndrome in Florida’s Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. The center opened in August 2018 and offers programs tailored to the learning styles of those with down syndrome. Volunteers from the education and therapeutic fields help offer these programs free-of-charge to families who take part.
